Altered Core Plateform Project

Altered Core Plateform Project

The official Altered website, managed by Equinox, will permanently shut down on May 20, 2026. Unable to secure funding to keep the game going, the community has decided to step up and ensure Altered lives on.

The community takes over

Since the announcement, community members have been actively working to rebuild the essential services: card database, deckbuilder, API, account management, collection tracking... The immediate priority is to keep the game running, especially on BoardGameArena.

The entire project is open source: anyone can contribute, suggest improvements, or reuse the existing tools.

What's already available

Several services are already up and running:

This site: a community hub

This site's role is to bring all these initiatives together: listing ongoing projects, sharing important news, and serving as the entry point for all services built around Altered. It does not aim to become the reference for Altered, nor to offer new content for the game.

Compatible Third-Party Sites

Some third-party websites are now compatible with this new architecture:

The Re:Union Project — building the future

Alongside the technical work, the Re:Union project brings players together and lays the groundwork for a new long-term community dynamic around Altered.

What's still in progress

The connection between this ecosystem and BoardGameArena is still under development. Many more features are planned and will be rolled out progressively.

Thanks to the community

This project wouldn't exist without the dedication of several key contributors:

  • Toxicity — APIs and deckbuilder
  • Sparky — account management and connection with the Re:Union community
  • PolluxTroy — this site, the CDN, the card generator
  • Gil, and many others
  • As well as the Equinox developers, especially ThibZ, for their invaluable help

The goal is clear: ensure Altered's continuity, while building together an open, sustainable ecosystem driven by its community.
